Kevlar pads = good, hard, but not harder than the disc itself

sintered metal = good stopping power, but also akin to using a chunk of steel wool on the disc for wearability of the disc

The '02 has 4 pot Nissin's As fate would have it I got a puncture in the
rear yesterday and while it was in getting plugged today, I asked the
mechanic about the front pads. He had a good look and said (quote) "She'll
be right mate - good for another 6-8 tho I reckon......keep an eye on them
anyway but."[1] So I guess that settles it then :-)

ZZR250==>ZX9R
[1] I trust this mechanic - he's only ever given me good advise in the 3
years he's looked after my rides.

I killed a disk in 5000km on my VX800 Suzuki!
The original pads literally outlasted the original disk!! (Although the
disk wasn't actually below "legal" just grooved to the shithouse!)
It got replaced under warranty once but they jacked up when I came back
again at 10,000......
