I don't think there was ever a 'T955'. T595 Daytona, yes, but the Tnnn
designations and the capacity were never related, IYSWIM.

Whatever. I thought they looked pretty good, as it happens, but I've
never understood why people are so bothered about form over function.

Nah, in true plucky underdog style, Triumph would release a litre bike
with less horsepower than the Japanese (and now German) opposition,
but rely on patriotism to sell it.

as ever, see ukgser
http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthr...152727&page=15
349 known cases, last one last month on an 08 model
there are some pictures - the new version is black powder coated, the one
that fails is bare metal (for a while until it oxydizes)

IIRC, there was a "ring antennae" fault on 08 models too. Should be sorted
by now on a recall. It's the aerial that picks up the signal from the coded
key. I was in France with a rider who had his pack up on the way to our
hotel in Metz. fortunately for him , we were on the way home so he got a
flight back to the UK via BMW Assist as they could not source the scarce
part.

She had the earlier 595 then 'upgraded' to the Daytona and hated it.
The Daytona is a totally different bike to ride and she went from
being pretty confident on the 595 to having next to no confidence at
all on the Daytona.

I think she'll confirm that she was so fed up with bikes that she
didn't enjoy riding them anymore until she rode the 9R and then buying
the R1 got her back to being confident on bikes and actually wanting
to go on holiday on one again.

The T595 was the model number and was a Daytona.

The next model was a 955i Daytona. it was later updated but kept the
same designation.

I had the first and last. As Andy has said, loved the first, hated the
last.

Not as quick as the original R1 or 996 but only just off the pace, the
engine feels and sounds fantastic and the brakes/handling are spot on. Low
mileage ones are around for £1800ish which is great value.
