For those interested.
Further to a discussion some time ago about the best way to preserve
bikes for a winter garaging.

I was put onto this stuff by a guy(and fellow biker) who works in
Machine Mart in Hull.

http://www.corrosion-control.com/acf50.html

I work in the Aero industry and for many years
ACF50 was not available to the general public. It is now but there's
only around two importers/distributors in the UK.I've had to get mine
from here,
http://www.elmers.co.uk/aviation/

This stuff is the,"Dog's Danglies".It's not cheap but then how much to
you value your machine?
This is an anti-corrosion penetration lubricant a 1,000 times better
than any WD40 and has some similar properties but the similarity ends
there as it can be used on ferrous and none ferrous metals and rubber
and synthetic rubber to protect. It can rejuvenate older bikes/engine
parts/screws/bolts and electrics. It can help un seize things that
other products will not touch and has a 24 month application life.It
actively repels moisture and salt water.

I had a word with,"Elmers" this week and they have now put it on Ebay,
http://search.ebay.co.uk/acf50_W0QQsoloctogZ9
because I told them how hard it was to get and wanted more bikers to
have access to it.

Applied carefully a little goes a long way so it works out a decent
price IMHO.

If you know anything about corrosion control in the Air Industry
you will know the stringent tests all products used on Aircraft must
pass.
Product meets
Mil -C-81309E etc

Some people who have bought it have done their own crude tests, myself
included.
http://www.sheppola.karoo.net/acfled.gif

This is a 3v Red LED(thx again Carlos D Jackal) treated with ACF50 and
submerged in a saturated salt solution. It's been in there over 2
hours.

This circuit should not work!!!!

But still it burns

I have no affiliation to,"Lear Jet .inc" in America who have developed
this product nor Elmers UK.

HTH

I went for the 1 litre bottle and applicator. All the lads in Hull who
have used it swear by it.It's just quietened a noisy Tappet shaft on
me old CX500
Nothing else did :O

Funny thing that.Have you noticed that some parts of engines like the
Tappets/shafts etc no matter how much oil they get on or in them can
have rust/corrosion.Especially on an old thumper like mine. :/

Read the instructions e.g warm up the can and shake well.A little goes
a really long way if you spread it correctly.I've been using a pencil
brush to apply to small places and a small rag can treat a big area.

I squirted some on my back tyre by accident, came out in the morning and
it had gained 4mm of tread. I thought this is great, so squirted it all
over my CB250RS. On arriving home from work I saw it had transformed
into a VFR800.

I love this stuff.

Maybe not, but 9 times was no problem at all.

Really, I *am* impressed.

What, again?

OK, just send me your schedule for the next few weeks would you?

I'm getting too old for climbing down drainpipes.
