Well, I guess it's official. My interest in watching races weeks
after they've occurred only lasted about 3 episodes. I just deleted
the most recent episode (Atl race 2) without even watching it. I
guess I'll just resign myself to only reading about the races for the
rest of the season. On the upside I seem to have more free time on my
hands this year!

Good thing the "The Boys" have saved American racing from the clutches
of those dastardly Factory n'er do wells.

I agree completely.
It went from a series that I watched every race of, including support races,
to something I delete without glancing at now.

Well I stuck out the Atlanta Race and the winner wasn't getting his
bang for his buck in advertising. He was never in the picture! So much
for tweaking the series to tighten it up! MM is getting the last
laugh.

It's horrendous for sure. Even with Moto GP's down swings (Qatar was
sad), you know the series will have some good races at several points
in the year, even in a year when the cards seemed to be stacked one
way or the other. Case in point, 2000, 2001great. 2002-03, not so
great. 2004, fantastic! 2005 not so, 2006 a classic! 2007, a snooze
fest, 2008, much better and entertaining most of the time. A.M.A.?
2000-2008, the Mat Mladin show with a cast of confusing support acts.
A.M.A. now? Just plain scary. I'd love to see it succeed but it isn't
going down the right path at the moment. WSBK however, A.M.A. SX and
Moto GP are a lot of fun on any given day, WSBK on almost all days.
Copy that one, then tweak it. Mladin will retire from boredom this
year I would think.

To be clear, my problem isn't that Mladin is winning, or that he's
winning by large margins. In fact, I hope he wins every single race
this year just to snub all those who were so adamant about calling him
and Yosh lying cheaters last year. [1]

My problem with the TV show is that I've already seen the results.
I've already read the interviews. I've already heard the riders and
reporters describe what happened. I already know who's break-away
move worked and who's didn't. I already know who crashed and who
moved up through the field. Oh, and then two weeks later I actually
get to watch the race.

Whoever dreamed up this format and thought it would be good for the
sport must have been on crack or something.

I can't understand why Speed even signed up for such a deal unless DMG
is footing the entire broadcast bill. If that's the case then it's
good for Speed because it eliminates one potential conflict for their
NASCAR programming. I wonder how long the TV sponsors will stick
around once they realize how botched the deal is?


[1] to be honest I'd like to see Hodgson take a few too when he comes
back.
