Tommy, baby. Park that thing and go home. Maybe Eric
the Boz needs a mango picker. Yosh isn't paying you to
be two and a half seconds slower than your teammate.

Go fast. Take chances.

Yea, that's an amazing time for Mat. I just wonder how much of that will
translate in to the race. But, also note, that Mat is almost 2s down
from last year. But was really close to last years time in Fontana.

Geoff May did a fine job of humiliating his teammate as well, something
he hadn't done (I don't think) since Sonoma of last year.

So, we shall see.

"Mladin said he could have went even faster" -- surely that's a case of
an American reporter putting words in an Australian's mouth? We just
don't mangle our verbs like that.

Pretty much bitch-slapped 'em all weekend, and has firmly established
that with Ben gone he's in a class of his own in the AMA. Now we wait
and see what DMG does in their relentless pursuit of limiting Suzuki
success in this class. Although that means handicapping most of the
field - Suzuki not only swept the podium both days but also made up 15
of 22 finishers (your previous point on '08 SSt machines). Or maybe
they don't care, since boring racing in ASB just helps their precious
DSB in comparison...

On that point, another win for Buell, and now the championship lead
for Eslick. Twins took 5 of the top 13 spots on Saturday, then 5 of
the top 11 on Sunday. And that's without Ducati, and without household
names (beyond Davies) or factory teams .And I particularly liked this
from the Milwaukee Journal, linked by RRW:

Sunday, for the third time in two weeks, a Wisconsin-made Buell sport
bike won a national road race. The victory came against Japanese and
European competitors that have dominated the field for decades. The
victories were the first for an American motorcycle manufacturer, in
this bike category, in 37 years, according to Buell, based in East
Troy and owned by Harley-Davidson Inc.

Now what category would that be? It goes on:

Critics said the Buell had an unfair advantage because it had a larger
engine. But the 1125R conformed with regulations, passed post-race
inspections and was no different from other Buells in the races. "It's
not like we have any special parts. We've got the same stuff as the
others guys. I've heard a lot of whining, but it just goes in one ear
and out the other," said Danny Eslick, the 22-year-old Buell rider,
from Broken Arrow, Okla., who won the recent races in California and
Georgia. The victories were especially sweet for Erik Buell, founder
of Buell Motorcycle Co., given that his foreign competitors are much
larger motorcycle manufacturers with hundreds of people on their race
teams. "The fact is that a privateer racer on a street bike beat the
Japanese factories' barely disguised race bikes, and I'm proud of
that," he said. "As an ex-privateer racer, who personally experienced
dealing with never having equipment comparable to what the factory
guys had, this is a great moment."

Nice spin, boys - I wonder if any of this came from the DMG PR dept...
