Any couriers here?

I figure there must be one or two
looking in from time to time.
I've been subscribed for 6 mnths but
not yet seen a discussion between 2
couriers.
I'm with Troll Fart in Melb, incorporating
MinuteMan, Dart, Mayne and Data Express.
That's about 400 units- couple of dozen bikes.
The days of sitting around a couple of jugs
come Friday are gone, so we've lost our
knowledge base.
Times are hard and getting harder.
Any Toll from Sydney- NZ maybe?

Speak up
Hows work?

Yes, the golden days are well and truly over. I'm with Central Express
and we also have a couple of dozen motors over the two channels we
run. Not for long though; up to 14 demerit points and I've put off the
inevitable for as long as I can. Now I've got to go buy a tie and look
for a real (desk or shop) job. Sigh.

Same deal as you
with the points.
I'm waiting for the inevitable letter from VicRds.

I went double jeopardy and with
3 mnths left- I pulled out
my phone at a red light.
Light went green, so I put it back down- no buttons pushed,
no call made, no talking and no loss of concentration.

As I told the magistrate-

Had an unmarked behind me.
VIC GOV slipped a new rule into an
edition of the Gvt Gazette.
Picking up a phone while not parked in your garage
is 3 demerit points.

Yeah, that's pretty rude. It's always the little things that get you;
answering on the 2-way or splitting on the left to get around an
accident. Leaving the key in the bike as I dashed into a real estate
to get the envelope I could see on their desk was my favourite. I
haven't worn a watch in about 8 years simply because I've owned a
mobile but haven't been caught on that one. Yet.

I don't get too indignant though because first, I knew what I'd done
was illegal and second, I've had a hell of a lot of second chances.
I've passed an unmarked on the back wheel and U-turned in St. Kilda
Road down near Inkerman only to be let off with exasperated warnings
despite the outrageous nature of the offences. Then I'll cop some
juiced up pig from the TMU whose day has been made because my
chinstrap isn't cinched tight enough after he's seen me travel 2
blocks down Lons between missions. If there was any justice in the
world... well I'd still be ****ed but just for different reasons.

Anyway, how long after you pay your final fine do you have until they
want you to decide if you'll take the suspension or the 12 month
probation?

They wait as long as they can, because it extends the pain.
My last 3 pts were the gantry cameras before the
domain tunnel
But the cops were not processing fines, so the
infringement arrived 2 mnths later.
I paid them and a fortnight later the choices
letter arrives.
Sent it back the same day.
Another fortnight before the confirmation letter
told me the 12 months would begin in a fortnight.
In total I had already been ticket free for the
16 weeks, but of course that doesn't count.

Wouldn't the other reality have been that you also had 16 weeks of
riding unrestricted, before the 12 months began?

That crossed my mind.
What if you went nuts and set a record
then went straight for the 12 mnths?
Until your 12 mnths officially begins how
can you be pointable?
The points wouldn't be counted against anything.
Technically you're between periods.

Or have they got an answer to this?
