firstly apologies if this is the wrong place to ask........

I bought an Aprilia RX50 to save money to and from work etc. problem is the
speed, there isn't any, in fact its dangerously slow, 25-30 MPH speedo
reading, I'm hoping someone might know how to de-restrict it or know of a
web site with the information, my search so far has been fruitless.

any help much appreciated.

Ah, the old moped question again. I had a Honda MT5 and all me mates
had MBX 50's. The MT5 was slow as cack, but the MBX boys had their
50's doing 65mph on the speedo, with a noticible power band through 2&
3rd gear.

Not sure about the Aprilia, but generally here are you options.

1: Bigbore kit. Bore it out to 70cc. It will be alot quicker
Obviously there are insurance and license issues to this option.

2: All the guys I know with MBX's had done the following
- Decent sports exhaust (doesn't have the restrictions of the standard
part and will allow better exhaust flow.
- K&N Filter, allows much more breathing than your standard airbox
- Upgrade the jets in your carb to cope with the new exhaust and
airflow

If you take these three options, you should be able to realise some
extra speed out of the bike. As I said I have seen MBX 50's do over 60
mph with these mods, but bear in mind it will mess with your warrenty
and may lead to hhe bike being less reliable.
