a barrel of oil is really cheap now ($37).
Now that the country is in the pits, so, the oil CEass0's are
willfully& gradually raisng the price of a gallon.
They probably think we're not paying attention. They probably think we
should be grateful for a gallon to be under 2 dollars.
The price in a coupla months ago was about 1.46, today around here,
it's about 1.80.
By Memeorial Day, it'll be with out a doubt;199.9...and middle of
summer, it will be 2.25, is my predciction.

It's not the oil companies. It's the refiners. Go out and buy a bunch of
gas, and they'll start ramping up production again and it'll be cheaper.

-We all have our opinions.
I havent changed any of my driving habits, Personally,I buy the same
amount of gallons, as I did this time last year, and the year before
that.
Another thang, is: when a barrel was over $150, they all said, that is
why gas is going up in price!!
IOW, it was simple: ''they had to pay more, so the public had to pay ass
more''....so much for that theory.

Ok, if it costs $150 for the raw material to make widgets, you have to
charge more for widgets to make money, right?

If it costs $35 for the raw material to make widgets, but people want to
buy less widgets, so you run your factory at 85% of capacity, you still
have nearly the same amount of costs to make widgets as if you ran at
100%, so you have to charge more for widgets to make money.

It's pretty simple really.

But I wouldn't sweat it much, the Obamites will make sure we don't have
cheap gas again when they put that extra 50 cents a gallon European tax
on it.

--Biff is nice enough to explain his 0pinion of why or how the cost
of Gasolene increasing, when Exxon is buying at 75% cheaper:

==ok, Biff, I understand .
However, if the cost of a product, in this case the much needed
''widgets'', is about 25% of what it cost last quarter, wouldnt it be
good business to price accordingly.
I think Baroma is smart enough not to apply .50 cents more to a USA
gallon of gas, not with times like this.
They can do it all day in Europe..if indeed they are?
Now, the idea that Folks aren't buying as much gasolene as they were,
is nonsense.
Biff, survey your own little world, to get a personal picture of that
idea.
In my little world, all 41 of them have increased their purchases of
gasolene? I was able to ask a few of them about that:
and they said '' Willie, actually we are filling up our tanks now, when
about 4 months ago, we couldnt, when gasolene was $4 a dern gallon''.
A coupla families we know, decided to go on their planned trip, of which
was previously cancelled, ''now'', that gasolene is under $2.
Again, my point is: Exxon and them, are gradually increasing the prices,
despite folks are back to driving more again, and despite the price of a
barrel of oil is so much cheaper, like 75%.
Over..... jaytkana
