Going through a box of old slides this morning I came across one that I'd
taken back in *I think* 1979 at Mallory Park, showing the late great Barry
Sheene doing a lap of honour after his race:

If anyone can identify the bike (is it even his - I always thought he rode a
number 7?) that would be fun.

I *think* it's a TZ350.

Phil Haslam raced in those colours. It looks like Mal Carter racing on
the seat hump & he was Haslam's sponsor. It would be interesting to know
why Sheene was on Haslam's bike for winners lap. Maybe his was bust.

I got it wrong it will be Ron Haslam's bike. Phil was sadly killed in
1974 (how time flies). I thought it was later.

What bike is it, though? TZ350?

I think it's a TZ750. It has white plates & I'm pretty sure that is
the 750/unlimited class. If we could see the other side we'd know for
definite because you could see how many exhausts it had. The tank shape
is like a TZ750, the 350 was different.

I did wonder about the plate colour, but then I couldn't see any sign of
more than two exhausts. Where did they run then because the 'other two'
seem to be high level on that pic.

Sadly, by the time I'd leapt over the barrier and sprinted across to the
other side of the track, Bazza had long gone ;-)

Thanks to all for the information. If it really was Ron Haslam's bike I am
sure I'd have been aware of it at the time (we were probably cheering for Ron
that day), but 32 years does tend to dull the memory ;-)

This look like Haslam on that bike, at Mallory too. Three of the
exhausts exit on right side of bike which we can't see in either pic'.
