I found this posting in my archive inventory of about
a year ago(specifically 3/4/2008). It's from Bill, and
I just thought I'd share it with ya'll.

From Bill:

Sure has been a hectic few months, here lately.. Things are finally
looking up.. There has been any number of contributing factors
involved in this "looking up" business..

I think that one of the main factors would have to be, the many
friends who've made it a point to keep in close touch with me
and their personal visits .. Many of the e-mails I've received have
also been a major factor..

To mention just a few of the visits.. Jerry made a hard ride up from
Houston, to spend the night with me.. And then, make that hard ride
back home.. I know he had better things to do with that time, but as
much as I appreciated that fine company, it was sure worth his effort
on my behalf..

RedShad and Gary Walker made a special trip out here to spend one
afternoon with me.. whoo hoo.. Those riding fools could have been in
the middle of the road, going somewhere.. for a fact.. For me.. that time
they spent out here was again.. muchly appreciated.. Thanks guys..

Then, of course.. I'd sure be missing the ball entirely.. not mention the
day that Big Ed, dedicated to me.. just last Saturday.. The "boys" had
quite a ride planned for that day and Big Ed passed, with a comment
"that he would spend the day with his old friend in Irving".. Damn, that
one really got to me.. As much as that big guy loves to ride.. I couldn't
believe he'd pass, just to come see me for a day.. He gave up a lot..

The good folks at Grapevine Kawasaki have called .. e-mailed, just to
make sure I haven't needed anything and to make sure I'm alright..
From the owner,, shop people, parts dept. and sales force.. they've
managed to keep a steady stream of well wishes going.. They've made
sure that the air horns for the Green One, were installed and some of
the other little things were attended to, at my convenience.. This is one
prime example of Dealer loyalty that has paid of in considerable dividends..

There is quite a few more people to consider and thank.. and I intend to
do just that, as time permits and things continue to improve with me..
Actions speak louder than words, so I'll be keeping that in mind as time
goes on..

Here's to you all.. and again.. many thanks to everyone who's had me in
their thoughts, these past few months..

Your Friend in Irving
Bill Walker

After I took the time to get to know him a little, he was more than worth
the ride. I do miss him.

Based on his prior comments, it sounds like he certainly
thought highly of you. I think these comments were said
sometime soon after Bill's initial diagnosis.

It seems like his words were interspersed with a good
deal of prognosis optimism. His friends and family did
really pull together.

Walker was an obnoxious prick. tx.motorcycles was a good group until
him being an asshole caused the better posters to leave for greener
pastures and better roads.

Most likely. But when I want to rant, I pick on the Canadians. You know,
somebody that can pick back.

Yeah, Bill had many admirers as well as many detractors.

But IMO, one always knew where they stood around Bill.

Sure, Bill wouldn't have made a good politician. But who
wants a politician for a friend.

He just didn't have the capability to be soft on his loyalty
for a cause, an organization, or a true friend.

Personally, I found that kind of dedication refreshing, even
though I often disagreed with many of his views.
