A new BMW R1200GS is being developed, said to be 30 kilos lighter than the
existing R1150GS.

I like the journos predictions from a simple picture(from various sites)
-a new frame replacing the pressed steel frame (last time I looked the only
thing you could call a frame was cast and the rear subframe is a tubular
structure mostly)
-All new engine (all new is a mighty claim considering BMW dont make many
one bike only components, the Rocker covers, heads and barrels certainly
look new though)
-Ozzy GS riders won't like the cast alloy wheels much (as photographed)

(next year a TDM900 or DL1000 I think)

If you read IK's original post, he had factored that into his calculations.
