I can't afford to go far, but I'm keen to get out of town for at least a
part of the long weekend.

Here's the plan: ride there, party on, sleep in, laze about, ride back.

Any takers for a ride/overnight stay? Camping, vanning or pubbing Sat or Sun
night, somewhere between Buttmans Bay and the Vic border.

I've never been to Tathra. We could return via Cambewarra and Roo Valley.
Any other suggestions?

Gary

In article <Xns93F9C6AE83560upyournose@203.22.212.136>, someone let
(E-Mail Removed) loose on an internet connection and the unfortunate result

You sweet talkin' bastard - count me as an interested par-tay. I can
recommend the Dromedary Inn at Central Tilba as a reasonable country
pub.

Any ideas whether there's double fly-buys on that weekend?

Hi, Gary

call the pub in Tathra for o/n accom (on the hill in Tathra, overlooking the
beaches),
or the Caravan Park (NOT the one on the foreshore but the bigger one on the
"landward" side of the coast-road), they've got good and very reasonably
priced, well sorted cabins.
Don't take the coastal drive to get into Tathra from the north, plenty of
dirt and bush, no scenery, not really worth it, bombed out dirt last time we
went.

cheers
pete

Hey, if you make it somewhere along the Murray, some of us
Mexicans will probably turn up too.

I'd like to, but I'd also like to move to Tarago by the end of the
year, so probably not.

BTH
(For once it's the time, not the money).

Some other time perhaps. I could be persuaded to go as far as Mallacoota...

OK, it looks like Saturday the 4th is the go. Tathra pub has 3 rooms
available on the 4th, double room $100 (!), family room (sleeps 6)
$120. Horseshoe Bay Hotel has motel units, $49, sleep up to 4. Other
suggestions welcome. I haven't tried any of the dozens of van parks
in the area, but I will if someone wants to come and feels a bit
unfinancial (onsite vans are usually under $30 and sleep at least 4).

To be sure of a bed over the long weekend, I must make a booking in
the next few days. Anyone intending to come, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. Post
here, or email antigramp at yahoo dot com dot au. I'll advise a
rendezvous when people accept; probably Civic or Qbn.

I was thinking of doing a loop, down the Kings as usual, down the
coast (dodging the highway where possible), stop somewhere for the
night, then south again to Eden, back up the range on the Imlay road
or the other one through Wyndham and Cathcart (a bit of dirt there)
then north towards Cooma and home. Other suggestions welcome.
Definitely not going via Adaminaby and Tharwa this time (even if it's
open).
