Assume for a moment that someone had dropped their CBX off their bike
ramp, and despite earlier protestations that all was well, it now
transpired that it need a pair of mirrors.

Would any old pattern rubbish be suitable? Any preferences?

I don't really want to go to the expense/trouble of locating OEM ones.

Ignore him, Dodger. The cheap mirrors have flat glass, and are useful for
checking your makeup and observing how wildly your handlebars vibrate. Good
quality mirrors such as are supplied by OEMs have slightly convex surfaces
that give you a decent field of view and compensate for the effects of
vibration. Unless you're selling the bike, of course, in which case any old
shite will do.
