HONDA CBX250

What you are bidding on is the LEGENDARY CBX250

this bike has been just about everywhere , visited such stunning places as
the infamous Oxley several times , done the snowy run , been down dirt roads
,crossed huge rivers , you name it its just about done it all and kept up
with the bigger bikes , not only that it went for an offroad excursion up
the oxley when trying to go round a Harley the footpeg dug in (they dont
have the worlds best ground clearance) and spat the rider off at 80KPH, got
back up and away again with only a couple of scratches to show for this
death defying feat

these bikes are simply amazing, they can go forever on the one spark plug ,
they rarely need brake pads , and literally run on the smell of an oily rag

well it did for many months until someone didnt check the oil , hmm was that
before the oxley run or did i check it before the snowy run ??

anyway what ended up happening was the piston slowly started to get a
little hot from the constant redlining and it lost compression until it came
to a stop from no compression rather than seizing , as it was fortunate that
when this happened it was pouring rain and kept the engine cool

pulling the top end off found some minor scoring of the bore , bottom end
seems fine so it looks to basically need a rebore for which you can punch
these mighty fine machines out to 280cc for that huge increase in horsepower
, just ask the dirtbike guys as this is basically an XR250 with an electric
starter , they go for years flogged mercilessly and are still made so a
testament to the fine Honda engineering , so a rebore, new piston and rings
, if you can do this work yourself looking at around $300 worth of parts

so here is your chance for an absolute bargain for a bike with and amazing
and colourful history

the reason for ebay is due to the owner being only 2 months from full
licence has lost all interest and much prefers to catch the bus for 80 mins
a day commuting , and now i know why , with the hot weather here now have
you seen the women that ride the bus , so grab it while you can before he
changes his mind

$3.90 is a bit steep for a ****ed-up, high-mileage,
20 year old 250 isn't it? That can't possibly be
$390.00 can it?

I dunno who this fatcat_stabby character is, but if he
doesn't get the CBX I've got a lovely CB250RS for him,
perfect condition and only slightly seized, a bit flogged,
somewhat worn out and not entirely always definitely not
running. 43 owners, all learners, mostly young men with
attitude problems and insufficient lubrication. Bid
now before the tyres crumble to dust. First to see
will feel a bit betrayed (if they've spent money, anyway)

I prefer calamari rings, but yeah, why not.

(you're not seriously interested in the CB250RS, are you?)
