Always setting the example our Jerry, and Houston now show the world how
important it is to get involved. Here's partials of the story from the news
source Yahoo, which doubles as a Houston shout.
================================================== ===========
HOUSTON - City Controller Annise Parker made history Saturday by being
elected Houston's first openly gay mayor, seizing 53.6 percent of the vote
in the hotly contested race.

"This election has changed the world for the gay, lesbian, bisexual and
transgendered community. Just as it is about transforming the lives of all
Houstonians for the better, and that's what my administration will be
about," Parker told supporters after former city attorney Gene Locke
conceded defeat.

Houston is predominantly Democratic and about 25 percent black and one-third
Hispanic.
================================================== ==================

Jerry, just a suggestion, but next I'd work on some math classes for the
local census personnel.

"This election has changed the world for the gay, lesbian, bisexual
and
transgendered community. Just as it is about transforming the lives
of all
Houstonians for the better ......"

1. Perhaps this is meant to say - "the world of gay, lesvian, ....",
because
I'm pretty sure "The World" doesn't know/care what happens in
Houston.

2. I also doubt this election is "transforming the lives of all
Houstonians for
the better". Or, the worst, for that matter.

Don't let Jerry hear you say that! He's still in the (voter) booth.
