We were heading to Fremont to look at a bike today and came upon
stopped traffic on northbound 9 about halfway between the summit and
Saratoga Springs. There was a badly damaged sportbike on its side, a
BMW sedan over the edge (back end into a tree--good thing the tree was
there or they'd have tumbled a lot farther) and an Asian man and woman
sitting by the roadside looking dazed. Another bike was upright with
helmet on seat and a blue WRX was parked across the road.

They were setting up an LZ at Pee Point (2 miles south of summit) when
we went by there.

Any word on who the chopper was for and how the person is faring?
