There's always one bolt that won't undo.
In this case, because some ham-fisted gorilla has rounded off the
allen socket bolt holding the lower cowl on.
Took nearly 2 hours of dremelling and drilling, and chiselling
beforeit disppaeared through the enlarged hole inthe cowl.
Of course, it then weas able to be undone by finger pressure alone.
Cowl now has a washer Aradited in place, and it won't be visible when
a new bolt is in place.
Foglights were a doddle to fit[1], and plug straight into the loom
extensions behind the cowl.
Switch replaced the blanking plug in the left -hand faring, and
allegedly plugs into a black 4-pin plug in the loom.
Can I find it? Can I eckerslike.
Just watched this wonderful video (5:20 - 5:40)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWol2aCA9nc
and there's certainly no obvious rubber boot there on mine.
Oh, well - I'm sure I'll find it later.
I believe the phrase is "plus ca change ..."
Perhaps I should have limited myself to fitting the fender extender,
after all.
[1] Unless you drop a spacer tube into the spark plug cover on the
lhs. Then you have to remove 5 allen bolts to take the cover off, but
before you do this, you have to remove the five hexagonal rubber
inserts that protect the hex sockets in each bolt. These, of course,
are a right pain to refit.
