Anyone aware of anyone that organises camping tours of Europe? had planned a
2500m lap late Summer but 'others' have wimped out. Missus is 'unhappy' for
me to go all alone (Bless) so need something kind of organised but has got
to be camping as hotels are too costly for my wallet.

I was speaking to a friend last week who was looking to do exactly this,
with Eurocamp IIRC. She was looking to go in May though, too early for
me what with the (anticipated) trip to France and then the NW200 a
little later.

Apparently Eurocamp is really cheap before the summer hols, then it
becomes quite expensive so you may as well stay in hotels anyway.

I'd be interested in something going on late summer, but somehow I think
your missus might not be too happy if it's just us two.

Get a list of camping sites and DIY. Book a pitch and turn up. That's
cheaper still, and do you really need your hand held on a tour of
Europe?

Wot he says.

Done it by car and bike,
France is especially easy to find campsites, Spain not so good.
Being able to drift to a destination is nice.
Ignore Ace when he goes on about hotels, just show him you accomodation
bill at the end and smile :-)

I have done this several times by bike with no set route, campsites can be
as expensive as some of the cheap hotel chains like Formule1
(www.accorhotels.com )or Premiere classe(
http://www.envergure.fr/pclassefr.html).

You would have to eat out rather that self cater but after all, you are on
holiday, not homeless and destitute !!!
