£2798 worth of damage.

God knows where they get some of these prices from, but anyway... highlights
:
1x 014 rear tyre (180/55) @ £185 (!) (and £11 to balance it!)
Fuel Pump Seal @ £12.83
Exhaust silencer @ £332
Rear Subframe @ £521
Fuel tank @ £352
£5 for two panel clips :-)

and so it goes on... considering it (cosmetically) looked straight to the
eye...

Still, authorisation to repair came through today, so that's now a problem
for someone else.

I'd be pushing for a new rear wheel and swing arm/spindle/bearings as
well, it took a hell of a lot of force in a plane it wasn't designed to.

Yes. Everyone else who has to pay insurance premiums. The whole
spares/repairs market is a scam.

When I lobbed my CBR in 1999, I'm sure the tank was about 500 nicker.

I must admit that the whole quote seems like a bargain - the Pan was

I think we should give everyone the benefit of the doubt.

Well, he wasn't.

But, since your garage is taking the ****ing **** it'll mean an inflated
claim; one that the Garage will benefit from along with the parts
supply.

So that's another 2 odd grand out of the insurance company's kitty, plus
a grand or so for the kit you damaged and your injury/trauma (if you
make a claim for this). Call it 3k all in.

The old fool that drove into you probably hasn't paid this for his
annual premium hence his insurance co. will have made a loss on his
policy- one which they will recover next year by 'gently' upping the
premiums for *everyone*.

Better? Are you sure your head wasn't struck?

Hmm. DWB's bike (IIRC) 'looked straightish' I don't think the Pan did
(did it?)

My gixxer needed about 2 grand spedning on it after being knocked over
in a car park last year. Still haven't got the work done[1] and nobody
actually notices the damage at all.

[1] French insurance company has finally been in touch and authorised
the work.
