Whether or not we even rode bikes, there was some inherent interest in
hearing that the Honda had passed the Yamaha, etc etc. Every
spectator knew the bikes. Next year we will hear --- what? I'm
betting announcers will be using rider names only, because team names,
with no need for a "Honda" suffix , will be too unfamiliar.

How many fans can tell you the current 250 TEAM NAMES right now, on
the spot? I think not many.

Yamaha is 55 years and has been winning WC's for 45 years.
Honda is 60 and has been racing for 50 years.
Kwackers since 1961, with WC's since 1969.
We feel we know 'em.

Balatonring. Aeropuerto-Castello-Blusens. Pepe. Matteoni.

I intend no disrepect to the teams who have provided stunning racing
in this and past seasons --- but it's going to be a steep learning
curve, and of course there is no longer a question of "Win on Sunday,
Sell on Monday".

Besides, I don't spend the race listening out for the makes of bikes.
Plus we (in the UK) have different commentary teams proving quite clearly
that it's not just a bit of knowledge that makes you a good commentator.

The difference with the 250's is other makes can field a team if they
want [as KTM did], next year it will be the 100% haonda cup, suppose
we should let them win something...
