One often reads comments like "don't feed the troll".

This got me thinking (come in spinners...)

When is a troll a troll?

Is it trolling to try to stimulate debate on a given topic?

Is it trolling to argue the point with someone?

I raise this issue because there are some who, in order to shut down
debates which don't suit them, or to try to escape critique, like to
play the "don't feed the troll" card for quite obviously disingenuous
reasons.

Am I trolling now?

Only time not to feed a troll is when they add nothing to anything.
Hatz for instance who posts race results is in most killfiles yet some
choose to answer.
That john howard idiot is another as is that xxx guy who answers
everything with epic fail.

They are in my troll containment field

Yoohoo Smee - the one I have in my killfile keeps getting out by changing
his fake address (or perhaps he posts from several different fake
addresses.) It's really annoying. Any tips? Is there some sort of "wildcard"
function that I can use when setting up a Blocked Senders list, to keep him
in his box?

TIA
betty
