Fettling fail

Buggery *******ing ****sticks! I had the day planned. Give the ST3 a wash
and good going over prior to its MOT tomorrow, followed by cleaning the
winter's accumulation of crap off the v-strom and then completing an engine
rebuild on the LS650. However shortly after I got the ST3 out from the Bike
Barn and started to spray it with Muc-Off I suddenly and inexplicably got an
excruciating pain in my right hip. I wasn't bending awkwardly or twisting
it in any way so I don't know what happened but it was one of those pains
that tell you immediately that you need to stop moving NOW! Fortunately
after a minute or two it subsided sufficiently for me to be able to hobble
into the house and swallow more than the recommended dose of
ibuprofen/codeine tablets. So, instead of a happy day's fettling it was a
case of sitting as still as possible watching TV and reading. It seems to
be a bit better now - I just hope I can get my leg over tomorrow (fnar fnar)
for the MOT.

SNIP

....and then to finish the day off I post the rant to the wrong ng. I blame
the codeine. Still the LS650 is 23 years old, which just about qualifies
even if nobody is ever likely to refer to it as a "classic".

On a similar(ish) note. Why did all the mucking about replacing all the
disks and pads go smoothly and right at the end of it all I have an
air-lock in the front hydraulics? Snot fair. Time to see if I can sort
that and get out for a test run before is starts to rain.

Yes, but whether you *MAY* have a biscuit is a different matter entirely.

All I have in ATM are a few suggestives and some slightly uncrisp cream
crackers.

BTDT but in my case it started symmetrically in both hips on
Friday afternoon of a Swiss long weekend, which meant it was (IIRC)
Tuesday before I could make a doc's appointment and Wed before treatment.
*And* he gave me a painkiller whose major effect was to produce violent
uncontrollable stomach cramps. Never worked out what it is, tho' it's
rarely been so bad again -- the absolute symmetry makes me wonder if it's
another manifestation of nerve damage in my neck from the Westwood
face-plant.

Managed to pinch a nerve in my coccyx last Boxing Day after
inadvertently following the Atkins diet for a few days -- luckily it went
away after 30 or 40 minutes, but it was as least as painful as when I'd
actually smashed the thing overbalancing against the edge of a step in a
bus out to CERN 15 months ago (two laptops and a litre of duty-free in
my backpack, combined with an unexpected jerk on take-off...)
