At work we broke a pretty decent TDM900 this week because it had far
too many miles for our showroom and a rattly engine[1]. While I was
checking out the array of parts taken from it I noticed some rather
good handguards sitting there, complete with Touratech branded
extension spoilers. I whipped them into the showroom and offered them
up against a new Versys and they'll definitely fit mine, so I bought
them.
Only later did I notice who'd made the handguards, and it's not
Touratech as I first thought. I'm not divulging any more, except to say
my Versys will soon be home to two very small propellor-style logos,
one embossed inside each handguard. In my defence I honestly thought
they were made by Touratech before I parted with my money and the logos
are very small and hidden from sight.
Oh, the eternal shame!
[1] Knackered camchain and tensioner, so we split the engine for spares
too, instead of selling it complete.
