Heavy rains North of the DFW Metro over the past few days had caused
flooding along portions of the Red River. That's the Red River tweenx
Texas-Oklahoma. Sheriff and I decided to go up to gawk, and point. I wanted
to go a less traveled route so I pulled up the Windows Live Local to do some
planning. I clicked and added waypoints on the map and then sent the route
via magic to my GPS. If you haven't done so, you must check out the live
local and options for routes. You can email routes, and send to gps via usb
or magic.
Following the route we came upon a bridge closure due to 18-wheeler vehicle
turned over on the bridge. I u-turned and pushed detour and was taken right
on around the mess. 'Course the detour stuff is not a function of the
Windowslivelocal, but rather of the hi-tech GPS I depend on.

The Red River was up as reported. We didn't see anyone to help so we headed
over to the Casino; yes Winstar without Big Ed's ok. The parking lot was
packed. The Swine flu has shut down the entire Ft Worth School system, and
caused cancellation of the huge annual Mayfest event. Gambling, however,
continues without regard to hand washers. We touched several slot machines,
and breathed near people, then had food at the buffet where the finger
lickers/suckers handle the serving pincher utensils. We felt like heroes
afterwards. This was before we were told by an older Indian(ex MM)
monitoring the gambling that greed is an antiseptic. As usual we won a
shitpot full of money. Had to quit 'cause we were on the motorcycle with
only so much storage. I keep telling the Sheriff we need to take the truck
when we gamble.

On the ride, 293 miles, there were of course the small towns, curves,
countryside, greenery, pleasant temperatures, and the beautiful raging
river.

I still use a map and my keen sense of direction. Don't even need a
compass. Never gotten lost, always find my way home. Joe just can't
get rid of me.

Joe was there last month. Didn't stop and gamble... good boy!

It's a darn good thing y'all cashed out and left when you did,
otherwise someone mighta thought you rigged the slots.

We need to divert that water this way. My stock tank is bone dry.
Not even any mud.

Enjoyed the pics, thanks. :-)

Has he tried getting you a defective unit? I got 3 days of relief out of one
I gave the Sheriff.

Yes, I know how to hide my special skills. If I have witnesses, i.e., eddy,
redshad, I try to lose.

No rain! Maybe today or tomorrow you'll get your share. A dry Stock Tank
just doesn't sound good.
Dance??

Now that is just tacky.
Neither of us has ever owned a GPS and it isn't high on my list of
priorities... not even on the list. I've been to every corner of the
U.S. and never needed more than a map, if that. If I want to, I can
google and get a general idea where something is, then I head out and
get there and back.

Yeah, I'm sure you do.

No, it isn't good at all, still no rain. Our share was nada, zip,
zilch, zero.
Rain dancing doesn't work. I'll dance and even run naked through it,
if we ever get any rain. Well, maybe not. I don't want to scare it
off. ;-)

I wish I were Louie. He gets his hair tussled and goes and buys a new
Goldwing. He also knows magic.
