FS: Blue-Point spanners

Whilst tidying and sorting out my new toolboxes, I find that I have,
surplus to requirements, a set of Imperial Blue-Point combination
spanners.

Blue-Point, as you probably know, is the name given to Snap-On's
industrial range. I believe that these spanners are made to the same
standards and from the same material as Snap-On; they just lack the
name and the highly-polished chrome finish. These spanners are
chromed, (not the 'orrible industrial black finish) but not brought to
the super-smooth high polish of their more illustrious (or should that
be lustrous?) counterparts. They do however, afaik, come under the
Snap-On umbrella lifetime guarantee.

Anyway, there's six of them, all in good nick. They've not seen a lot
of action tbh, and none at all in recent years which is why I wondered
if anybody might have more use for them than I presently do.

The sizes are 7/16", 1/2", 9/16", 5/8", 11/16" and 3/4".
Open end at one end, 12-point ring at the other.

I'm thinking about 50 quid for them, to include postage to the UK - or
make me an offer if you like - abuse and derision may be expected ;-)

If there are any Imperial perverts around, I also have a set of pukka
Snap-On deep 3/8" drive six-point Flank Drive(tm) sockets sitting on a
rail that haven't seen any use recently ... you can make me an offer
for both spanners and sockets if you like. The email address in my
headers is valid.

Pip, I'm disappointed in you.

Criticism of the One True Colour! What's next, fluffy ears?

I know, I know. I wrestled with this phrase when I was typing it, but
could find no substitute. It isn't really the colour I object to,
it's the whole finish. It is 'orrible - just semi-smoothed mild steel
with a thin coating of the One True Colour.

You know what you can do, don't you?

Surplus spanners?

All quite correct. I actually have a set of metric ones here, and I much
prefer them to the shiny chromed Snap-On ones.

Cheap that is. A new set is about £120 +VAT.

Heh. Yes, it is possible. They won't fit in the boxes, you see ;-)

I prefer to use tye B-P stuff as I'm less precious about scratching
the damned things. I've not really used these in anger however, which
makes them surplus in my eyes.

Priced to sell, Andy. You know.

I just found the shiny ones get slippery when you get oil on them, the
BP ones are grippier.

*Good* point that man. Hi thee to Ebay, Mr Pip. Start at 40 squids, no
reserve, + P&P and you're on a winner.

I'll be doing that, indeed, gents. However, in the finest tradition
of uk.r.m. I thought I'd give the incumbents here present first crack,
like.
