Firstly, Ghostbikes are fab. Order placed Monday AM. Email confirmation
yesterday PM with DPD tracking no. Email & SMS received this AM advising
delivery between 13.46 & 14.46. As promised, everything delivered this
afternoon just after 14.00.

In the order was a set of Ferodo front brake pads which are now fitted to
the bike. It's a while since I've done anything more complex than remove a
wheel for a tyre change so minor sense of achivement. Thought I had a
piston that wouldn't push all the way back into the caliper but no, they
were just playing silly buggers and a bit of wiggling and waving of a big
screwdriver got the bastard onto the disc. A hand guard stuffed with a rag
made an excellent overflow reservoir for the fluid displaced by the thicker
pads. I would've used a syringe but the fluid started to ooze out as soon
as the screws were loosened. I should've remembered that the fluid was
changed at a service last autumn so there would be minimal space for the
surplus fluid to fill.

The other thing ordered was a pair of FB textile trews for the forthcoming
trip. Look pretty good for under £50, zip out liner, breathable & vents in
the legs. Hopefully waterproof.

Better put these new trousers on, minus the thermal lining, and take the
bike for a spin.
