i read a few posts about a headlight replacement for honda
motorcycles. I wanted to share what i did. I heated the bucket around
the bulb wiring to break the solder. then i gently squeazed thw bulb
to break the glass inside the bucket. once that was broken, the socket
came out easily. shake the bucket and the glass dome will break up
allowing it to all come out. a quick rinse will take care of the talc.
and now a 9006 bulb will fit perfectly inside. push the bulb into the
hole, and it will snugly fit there without falling out.I also had to
trim the plug on the light to get to the tabs for wiring. i put some
red rtv aroud the base to waterproof it. then the wires were set using
simple spade connectors and shrink wrap. put the bucket back in and
you are good to go. the whole process takes about 20 minutes, and
costs around $10. now you have a halogen headlight!
