Have been told that ho ho ho is no lomger acceptable. How about bah bloody
humbug???

My kids came over this arv to do the Christmas thing with me before heading
off to their dad's place in country NSW. Feels very weird, especially as I
have to go to work tomorrow and Christmas hasn't even happened yet!

Not sure quite how I feel about spending my first ever Christmas all by
myself... part of me is saying "yay! do whatever you bloody like!" while
another part of me is saying "you poor sad git"...Don't know which one will
win out on the day. I have a morning ride planned... I reckon the Cotter
will be deserted while everyone else is doing the family thing....

Merry whatevers to my fellow ausmotians, and thanks for being there! You are
good eggs :-)

Have a GREAT one Betty, And the same to all you others out there. I'll
be having a Beer or three for all of you.

However... avoid the big commuter and feeder roads at around 9-10am
and around dusk.

Because people are going to visit the rellies for the big day.

In the morning there's heaps of cars with overexcited children and
parents gearing up to cope with the horrors of relatives they can't
stand but have to be polite to, but the afternoon/evening is worse.
The kids are tired and fractious and complaining about presents, the
adults are tired and upset and a bit drunk.

This is especially painful in Sydney because whether you choose the
Old Road, or Wiseman's or the Nasho, you have to run the Christmas
Driver gauntlet for bloody miles.
