There is always the possibility that she was counting change very slowly
out of her purse.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember Wicked Uncle Nigel

Or paying by some plastic that's not accepted there.
Have you ever noticed the SEP field that immediately envelopes you as
YOU pay with your plastic? I could swear time speeds up in it, contrary
to the time that elapses when I'm stuck in a queue behind a plastic
payer.

Heh.

I really have no idea. But doubtless if he did we'll get a blow-by-blow
account of the denizens who infest Bradford A&E on a Saturday night.

I wonder if Turnpike can kill a thread before it gets created?

I'll save him the bother. The kind of scum who frequent A+E depts in
the early hours at weekends are generally the same everywhere, only
their accents change depending on their origins

FFS, How?
With a machete or a chainsaw? It's not easy doing that. Were people
just standing around while he hacked at her?

Thats what I thought.

I've beheaded a few (six) deer using a wood saw. It's not a five
second job. More like a minute.

I suppose though if you were kneeling on someone's shoulders and
pulling their neck taught by their hair then it might be easier than
when they were suspended by their neck on a long rope. However I
would think the angle would be difficult, the saw blade would be
hitting the floor.

Maybe he used an axe or cleaver to sever the bone and a sharp knife to
do the rest?
