Generally a crossposted topic is good for a the group.
It adds a little variety and infuses external opinion. Occasionally I
quite enjoy it, I dont have to add groups to my reader and I still get
to read options and discussions I'm usually not privy to seeing without
the spam that goes with subscribing to an extra group. Especially one as
general as aus.cars which I would expect attracts many posts.

A BIG MUTIPLE GROUP HUG for MA who was and is usually the individual
person who brings us all together. The only person (besides spamers) who
sees that newsgroups are a usefull tool to achieve ones strategic if not
personal and selfish objectives.
I am happy that for the first time I've noticed in two years that he's
finally dropped the name Motorsist's Advocate and chosen MA.
I hereby dub MA - mama Bear. Because,
a) there is a possibility you actually belive in a cause and think you
can or should 'protect' us from the 'big bad nasties' out in the real
non virtual world we are not aware of. (thanks and kiss kiss)
b) you bring this great big happy newsgroup family together. (just like
every good mama bear does)
c) you feel obligated to inform us of things we dont care to know. Or
possibly we do know but dont think important enough to make a fuss over.
d) my present twised state of awareness observes a similarity between MA
and mama bear. ???
