I like Soundrider a lot. They have 21 bikes listed in the classifieds
at this particular moment, running the gamut from dirt to cruiser to
sporty. Seems kind of hit-or-miss, though I bet the exposure's good.
Dunno: I sell sportbikes via word-of-mouth, usually. Sold one via
A.M.S. couple years ago and another to a friend of a friend at the
Friday "company lunch ride" a month or two ago. It's always been like
that for me.
Sometimes trade-ins are a decent deal, as well. Most motorcyclists
move on to other bikes; sometimes dealers are both the path of least
resistance and best resource for fair market value on another (new or
used) bike. Most bikers have decent relationships with at least one
local dealer. Buying, selling, and/or trading a bike usually cements
good business relationships, which will pay dividends down the road.
Point being, I'm a sportbike-head. All my friends are
sportbike-heads. Put the word out, follow up/follow thru, something
usually happens. Were I a cruiser or dirt guy, same thing: when
seeking ducks, go to the pond.
