OT - I nearly blew it...

My loved one and I were watching the Djokovic-Nadal tennis match last
night.

It was a long night, and towards the end I dozed off, sure that
Djokovic would win the match.

Just as well I woke up about half an hour before the end!

There was Djokovic... looking and playing like the walking dead. I
said to myself (I frequently have long discussions with myself) "That
boy needs some energy." So I telepathically started sending him
mega-amps of the stuff.

And it worked. The boy started picking up almost immediately. Even the
commentators were saying things like "Where is he getting the energy
from!"

And that, dear readers, is how I won the Australian Open. Modesty
demands I acknowledge that Djokovic played a small part, and I happily
do so.

Well done, Djokovic !!!

Why?

I can just about understand watching cute women playing tennis, but big
hairy, sweaty blokes, taking a girlie game so bloody seriously.....
<shrug> just 'cos they make squillions of dollars at it.

Sport, generally, has been going down hill since they introduced score
keeping to women's beach volleyball, and the ball into Gaelic football.

I usually have the opposite effect on sports, I start watching and the team
or individual I support starts losing. I usually wait for the results now.

Clue 1: SWMBO was in charge of the TV at the time.
Clue 2: I nodded off.
Clue 3: I barracked for Djokovic because SWMBO was barracking for
Nadal.

Make of this what you will. You will anyway... :-)

You should not waste such talent, Darth. Start barracking for the
team/individual you want to see get beaten. ;-)

OK, perfectly normal reaction, under the circumstances.

Doesn't work, no matter how many times I watch Collingwood play the only
time the wankers lose is after I switch off.
