We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember "GeoffC" <(E-Mail Removed)>
saying something like:

>They should have warned you to take a decent pair of sunglasses.

If the appt had been made by letter, they would have done. As it was a
favour via my GP, it was quickly arranged by phone.

I was told to wait four hours, but **** that, I was bored sitting.
If I'd had sunglasses it would have made the journey home more bearable,
without a doubt.

Docs over here pass out disposable shades for that.
(Of course, we tend to have a lot more disposable stuff, don't we?)

One of my pals has just voluntarily parted with £4000 to have the lens
replaced on his eyes. He said it's the same operation as used for
cataracts and each eye takes about a week to recover. Currently waiting
on the lenses being manufactured.

I could understand doing it if he was suffering cataracts but this is so
he doesn't need to wear contact lenses. I must admit to being a little
bit squeamish about replacing perfectly (almost) working bits of eye.

First time I went on the bike, the receptionist asked me how I'd got there.
As I was wearing the full on riding gear, I though it best not to upset her
too much, so I just said "Bus".

She actually said "That's good, because we wouldn't let you drive yourself
home".

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, but I gave thanks she had **** all to
do with the photography session.

Right then[1].

I can't even put eyedrops in my eyes.

[1] Yeah, I know.

Just inject some nerve agent(1) that'll close the iris's down to
normal.

(1) NB correct dosage is essential...

There's an easy trick to this - drip the drops onto the skin by the
corner of your eye nearest the bridge of the nose. Gravity and natures
design will take care of the rest, and you don't have to be squeamish.

Or just don't use eyedrops, which works just fine too.
