Powder or Paint?

I'm thinking of just pulling the sw-arm out of the R100RS and doing it
properly rather than clingfilm and lots of lying on my back in a freezing
garage. So it could be re-finished innashop. Paint or powder coating though?
I think stove enamel is consigned to history.

I think I like powder coating, it seems to be chip resistant from frames and
wheels I had done. Are there different types/grades I wonder.

Paint, every time, unless you're on a really tight budget.

Powder coat never looks *right*, IMHO, and if you do get a chip in it,
it seems to start to peel away, and it renders frame numbers all but
invisible (not that this is a problem with a swinging arm).

Far from it. I'm having the TS2350 frame stoved - costs twice as much as
pwder coat, though.

Beav is your man here for an authoritative opinion.

The other issue is that *if* the powdercoating gets damaged, you'll have
a hell of a time getting that fixed as you can't just touch it up like
paint.

Not so easy now the weather's warmer, and really only applicable to
those who worship their machines.
