A missread, I'll rewind.

As a car battery it is fine and hunky dory to link up and use.

Now this bit may be an urban myth.
---8<snip
A car charging system is more likely to pump a greater kick through the
system, which a bike system may well not be happy to take.
---8< snip

I for one would prefer not to test that theory, it could be that it just
relates to 6v V 12v systems.

Simply born from the occasions where the bike has a 6V battery. If both
are 12V, then there's no problem. I've jumped my bikes enough times from
cars to know the battery doesn't fry.

Its not the battery that I thought was the issue, but the reg/recs etc.
