http://pages.suddenlink.net/somestuff/tracks.htm

My collection of tracks, mostly on Google Maps. Had to hunt like heck to
find many of them, going back and forth and up and down. Should have all
the motogp and WSBK tracks, plus AMA and others. Zooming out and seeing
where they are should enable finding them on Google Earth.

Google Maps isn't exactly up to date, so for some tracks it just shows
where they were going to be built.

Nice. I feel the need to mark them up with the details of where to get
in for free and other key bits of info.

What's the best way to add to the list?
- Cadwell Park

Reminds me of when I was young and there were two clubs racing. The one
I belonged to and served in was democratic, but the other one wasn't, so
I snuck in to one of their races quite innocently. :-)

I've added your Cadwell link to the page.

For sure it would be good to have it able to be added to by anybody online.

Cadwell sure doesn't have gravel traps, does it? Here in the US,
Roadracing World Magazine is leading the movement for air fencing.

Is anything like that happening over there?

One half of Cadwell has acres of grass slope to slide away on. The other
half has trees and armco right next to the track as Kagayama and Camier
have found out. The bits that look really bad up the north end are also
really slow. I saw Crutchlow deck out the crankcase last year. The curb
he hit was about 10 feet away from me, he slid off on the other side of
the track and neither he nor the bike actually hit anything.

Most of the BSB tracks do get air fence in the places where it's really
needed. But riders still manage to have accidents in the strangest
places and miss the air fence. Like Kiyo a couple of years ago at
Mallory.

Possibly the best track day circuit in the UK. Maybe one day soon
they'll race there.

Cadwell is the one UK track I've been to (BSB '08). I thoroughly
enjoyed it. It looked and felt so much like a real track as opposed
to the few midwestern tracks I've been to here in the US, which come
across as strips of pavement in the middle of corn fields (or trash
dumps as was the case of the old Gateway International in St. Louis).

Dirt recollects:

Still exists:

The dump is immediately west. I think they only do nascrap and drag
racing there now.

Go fast. Take chances.

They do motorcycle racing as well. I was there for the '93(?) AMA
races under the old configuration (what a hole), for the CART races
before THE SPLIT the first year of the current oval and I've been
there with a friend of mine in 2006(?) helping out while he did a
track day. I know of a gentleman who raced a GSXR-600 there under CMRA
(?) within the past four or five years. I can't say I ever noticed
the smell of the dump. Must've been up wind...
