Jeez. It all depends on how clean it is, whether it's been resprayed,
state of the chrome, whether the seat is dead (a brand new old stock
(NOS) seat for one of these went for ukp1300 on ebay a while back!) and
so on. State of the *engine* is actually the least of your worries.

FWIW, it's a bloody awful bike (the later GTs were much better) but
hugely collectable.

Anything between 500 quid and a grand. Properly sorted, add two grand to
those figures.

Really? A close mate of mine has just sold an imported pink (cerise)
one, J model as well, for 1700 quid, and it was absolutely beautiful.
He's the sales manager at a Kawasaki dealer and has dealt with older
used bikes for donkey's years too, so he knows roughly what the market
will stand. Originally put up for £2500 in spring 2002, it eventually
sold a couple of months ago.

Hm. It being an import might have counted against it.

A huge amount depends on the nit-picking condition on these things. 1700
would get you a damn good one, but for one really special, 2.5k.

the wrong URL! you need

www.thekettleclub.org.uk

Not the one I posted if you got it .

They will give you a lot of info prior to buying.
If the crank seals are borked which they invariably are in motors that have
not been run, it will cost you a grand to sort.
Having said that, I would agree with all that TOG has said further down the
post regarding value and rideability.
I bought a 750A a year ago and it isn't cheap to sort but IMO they look
lovely and sound even better and may even be worth enough (sorted) to make
it all worthwhile.
The Kettleclub boys can source and advise on most things, almost everything
can be got (at a price).
Without them it's impossible.
Have a look round E-Bay to get an idea of prices. Some stuff goes to silly
money (chrome in particular)

Thanks for all the posts )
Upon closer inspection it does appear to be a bit of a basket case & has
been laid up for 15+yrs,not sure if I can finance a complete o/haul.I will
check out the kettle club website & see if it`s a goer or not. Thanks again
max.
