The Noise testing day is still on

As part of the MCC's effort to get aftermarket pipes dealt with
sensibly, we need data. We need to know just what is out there on the
NSW motorcycle fleet.

So a noise testing day.

We want *all* types of bikes. Old and new. 4s and triples and twins
and singles, 250s and 1100s, twostrokes, tourers, sportbikes, commuters,
scooters, trailbikes.

As wide a cross section as we can get, loud or not. We don't want to
end up with a bunch of big twins and R1s and no commuters!

See http://www.mccofnsw.org.au/ under "notices/news" on the left panel
for the state of play with aftermarket pipes - what the EPA are doing,
what you might get fined and defected for, and the history of it all.

We find the EPA has no clue as to the number of aftermarket pipes in
NSW, what noise level they might be, the costs, nothing. This data
gathering is part of the MCC's negotiations with the EPA to get them to
think instead of just going off at random.

Location:
Old service station (now NRMA outpost) 50M South of Mount White Village
Store (RMB 1147) Pacific Hwy Mt White 2250 ph:4370 1122. The plan is for
everyone to gather at the Cafe and come over to be tested as requested.
The owner of the cafe is planning a BBQ.

Date/Time:
Sat Sep 20th, 10am to about 4:30pm.

Cost:
Nowt - the MCC is covering the cost of the testing.

Questionnaire:

We need the following info on the bike, which would be good if you could
have on a bit of paper you bring with you - quicker than us writing
it down! But forms are available.

There's no info to ID a particular bike or rider, just to match pipes
to bikes and age and so on, and some demographics. Demographics help to
show that it isn't all teenage hooligans or bornagains
