Tentative FS: Laverda

I've been mulling this over for a few weeks now and seem to be coming to
the conclusion that keeping the Laverda might not be such a smart idea.

The simple reason is that the clutch on it is brutally heavy for my
injured arm and I don't have the time to get Slater Brothers to make the
necessary modifications before taking it with me.

It does needs a new battery and the recommended airfilter from Slaters
fitting (comes with the bike as does another bunch of service stuff and
electronic ignition); rear tyre is pretty bald, too.

In the plus side, it's been restored in the past and is in pretty good
nick, plus the metalwork has been repainted by Beav a couple of years
ago. Also comes with two seats - a short 1 1/2 sports seat and the
original 2 person, more touring oriented seat.

Not MOT or Tax atm and I don't have the time to put that on.

Given the money that's invested and the fact that a lazy weekend should
sort it, I'd like to see around 1800-2k, but I'd need to know ASAP
before it goes into the container.

Oh, and located in Ashford, Kent.

If you're even vaguely serious about selling it then you should get it
mentioned on the ILOC forum & on the Laverdapedia forum. Any pics online
anywhere?

Should sell quickly at that price. Hell, if I had £2k handy to spend on
a bike I'd have it.

Having sold my Ducati MHR for exactly the same reason, & regretted it
ever since, my advice would be to keep it. An easypull lever (something
like
http://www.stuntbikestore.com/shop/a...utch-2.html?sh
op_param=cid%3D12%26aid%3D49%26 ) & a teflon-lined cable may make all
the difference, especially if you add
http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...se-Racing-Easy
-Pull-Clutch-System.aspx into the mix.

Or you could 'encourage' a Magura hydraulic clutch kit to fit.

Well, for starters there was no TIG welding involved in the restoration
of varous tanks and other metalwork.
