Not in this case luckily!
I slightly over filled my fuel tank and when I was walking back to my bike
from paying I saw a pillar of smoke rising from it.
Rushing over, I found fuel dripping out the overflow tube which was
strategically placed above the exhaust pipe. As each drip hit the pipe it
hissed and smoked.

My question for the experts of Ausmoto is-
Should I ?
a. relocate the tube,
b. not overfill the tank
c. both.
d. neither.

I'd do (c). Matter of religious principle.

Let the bastard burn and claim on the insurance (too chicken to even
approach a smoking bike).

d.
Even though it's boiling it's still not gonna burn unless there's an actual
ignition source (or it gets about 300 [alt 0186] hotter.)
You're saye.

Late last year I filled my bike from the antique fuel pumps at the petrol
station in Tharwa. Managed to get about 24.5 litres into the 23 litre tank on
the 'bird... 1.5 litres of hot fuel on engine/exhaust caused a lot of hissing
(no smoke from memory) and left the bike sitting in a puddle of ULP. I never
knew BTH could move as fast as he did

That's what I planned, but mostly from inertia.
I was just at an interesting site that shows why cars don't explode like in
the movies. I would surmise it goes for bikes too.

Before anyone points it out I just realized the site was from a previous
Ausmoto thread

Reminds me of a Microsoft helpdesk joke where after a long conversation the
helpdesk dude eventually gets from the user that there is a power blackout.
He tells the user to pack the computer and send it back to where he got it
from because he's too stupid to own a computer.

If you don't do (c) maybe its time to think about travelling in a cage with
lots of airbags.

Anyway I gotta go now and check where the FZR's overflow goes.
