Called 'Gold Coast Motorcycle Tyres 'n' Bikes'
Pirelli Diablo : $265 Fitted
Metzeler M1: $255 Fitted

Currently running a D208 but have been reccomended both of these tyres. Any
thoughts on another tyre or the prices?
I'm also going to be mixing it with the D208 on the front till it's due for
replacement... I dont have the funds to replace both at once, so any
thoughts on mixing these tyres?

Given my own experience I'd expect the Diablo to last about the same as the
208 or less. I replaced the D208 rear tyre on my 12R with a D220. No
noticeable reduction in traction and for a change I'm wearing the sides faster
than the centre. The prices you quote above sound pretty reasonable.

*wonders* ... there's a tyre out there that can last less than Dunslops??? I
thought the Metzelers had pretty sweet mileage for what they were?

Diablo is the fastest wearing tyre I've had. I use D208s now.

D220 going on mine tomorrow. Got 8,500 out of the original, about a
thousand left on it.

I'm surprised you've put on one the 12R, nev. Thought it might have been a
bit squirrelly with the large grunt of the 12.

Nah.. they've got bucket loads of grip. According to the categories on the
Dunlop website the D220 is a "High Performance/Sports" tyre. They suggest the
D208 (their only other 200 series tyre) for the ZX12R. The original D208 wore
down well beyond the tread depth indicators in about 4500-5000km (and the
first 1600km of that was running in < 6000 RPM). The D220 has been on for
4500km and is still legal in the centre and just touching the TDIs on the
sides, though I anticipate it will be running well short of tread all over by
the time I get back from a Bright, Hotham, Omeo, Bairnsdale loop this weekend

Got mine on today. I'm surprised the D220 is a High Performance/Sports
tyre. My bike shows no signs of high performance. (It's a girl's bike, but
WILL RUN RINGS AROUND SMACK'S 600SS)

They ran a sander round the tyre to get rid of a lot of the slippery ****,
which I thought was a nice touch, since showers were forecast.
