Well...
First, I don't really know how good it is until I see it. That said,
the bloke sounds genuine.
Second, ending your auction in midday on a sunny spring sunday is a
rather bad thing to do from an ebay perspective, plus the guy is a
0-rated seller. I'm not too bothered about that because if it turns out
that the bike is howling at the moon in clear nights, all I've lost is
the trainfare.
Nevertheless I am surprised that I was the only bidder - after
consultation with TOG he reckons that if it is as good as it appears to
be in the ad[1] it would be worth a tad more.
I think if you play it right, your 500/4 should make fairly similar
money if it's in nice enough condition.
[1] Misapplied sidepanel transfers, for starters. Trust TOG to spot
that.
