I accidentally* bought a fire damaged thruxton yesterday. I need some
bits for it. Any ideas where in Australia might be a good place to go
to avoid rip off dealer prices. Not much on ebay.

Fraser

*well that is what I told the other half anyway.

Not really, no.

In the current economic situation, unless the parts you need are very
heavy or bulky, I'd suggest Jack Lilley in the UK.

Cheers. Only need some stuff like switchgear. I am yet to pull the
panels off and see what the damage is like. Hopefully I won't have to
rewire the thing.

It would probably be cheaper and quicker getting the parts you need from the
UK
Thruxtons are scarce here, I know a bloke who has two of them, late models,
and he wouldn't part with either of them,
of coarse, he does have about thirty other Triumphs, must be some sort of
collector or something like that
maybe a nut?

I deal with a bloke in Wales for any Triumph parts, cant find his address at
the moment, but I will look

Cheers mate. Mine is an 09 and prior to the accident looks well looked
after. I am still in two minds whether to go back to original or
customise it. I love the Deus Ex Machina bikes and the Thruxton would
be a great starting point.

Hnh.
Good luck.

$11 for a plastic clip to hold a wire to the frame.
$20-something for a mirror bolt.

I've taken to fabricating my own, where possible.
My gear-change lever, for example, is home made.

I still love my Bonnie, but the friendship doesn't extend to the spare parts ghouls.

(probably cheaper to buy a second Bonnie, just for parts)

+ 1 for Jack Lilley. Bought a few things without problem.
