A couple of vaguely interesting observations:

-it was so windy on Friday that I still have severe forearm pain from
hanging onto the bars. (A car-rally participant was killed when his car
came over a crest, got light, and the wind got it)

-It's hard to try to ride smooth in ****ing rain when your natural riding
behaviour is lurching around like a one-legged man at an arse-kicking party

-a twerp named "Skoota" from Sydney was heard to say, "this Yamaha scooter
of mine is a 500. It's the sporty one, only 200kg, whereas the 650 weighs
another 100kg, making it as heavy as an ST1300 but not as fast"

-people named "Skoota" don't like subtle suggestions that they might be
retarded pillowbiters but not to the extent that they'll actually do
anything about it.

-his friend (also from Sydney) had a FZ1 (? the bikini-faired, toned-down
R1-engined thing) with a screen that must have been 600mm tall. "Just need
to to a bit of fine-tuning". (Looked towards my bike with very rough
duct-tape-work)..."Unlike some people, I like things to be perfect!"
"...so how come it's not yellow to match your hair-dye", I asked. Another
pleasant conversation ****ed in an instant.

-Old people are mainly deaf therefore have to talk loudly and all at the
same time.

-Old deaf people do 'weaves' at 80kmh on 110kmh-limited roads to 'warm the
tyres' on their Viragos but don't necessarily check their mirrors first.
This causes great consternation to the freight-train of sportsbikes passing
them at a speed differential of around 100kmh

-I realised that JL was right in his contempt for Sydney Ulyssians

-Pogo's bike & rider combination at 77 years (him plus an old Guzzi Connie
outfit) was beaten by 27 years by an old BSA rat-bike whose owner has an
image of every part of the bike tattood on his body. True. He's from Mt
Gambier, which explains a fair bit. The left side of his rear tyre has more
oil than Abu Dhabi.

-A well-travelled and well-ridden H-D full-dresser won the slalom race. I
kid you not.

-a bloke was a worse snorer than me, but he sleeps with a machine attached
to his head so I won.

-Tullamore Dew is not bad at all in porridge.

Were you in a tent Saturday night? Blew a ****ing gale down here, wind
speeds up to 157 km/h on Mt Wellington. Wouldn't have liked to be in a
tent in conditions like this end of the state ...

You doing Tasrally? I'm definitely doing that one.

Cheers
