Someone noted:
"Close friend at work has one, likes it a lot. The fairing in front
however has a materials issue that the manufacture is aware of, it
basically disintegrates after a 10K miles. He has his signals/marker
lights removed and ziptied elsewhere so they don't come off during
travel. The fairing material is degrading under UV or vibration
near the mounting points."

So asked the people I know with V-Stroms and got this:
"No, haven't heard anything like this, and I follow a very active V-
Strom forum pretty closely. The problems I hear that are most
similar to this, are when they drop their bikes and break the
turn signals or break the fairing point under the turn signals;
apparently either one is expensive and annoying to fix.

What year is it, and what color? Has he dropped it a lot? Does he
park it outdoors all year round without a cover?"

They said they ask around, but it may be that someone been dropping
their bike and not wanting to admit it.

And the quick answer is:
"A V-Strommer in Singapore has already responded. He says he lives
130km from the equator, it's hot and sunny all the time, his bike is
three years old and he has seen nothing like this.

I think this guy you're talking to doesn't want to admit he's dropped
his bike so many times."

I realized that from the quotes. I didn't mean to imply that you said
it. I was just trying to add additional information to your additional
information <g>

Complete nonsense .
My Strom has been ' baked ' for years .
No problem .

But if you mess up the fasteners fixing the fairing on and off the bike
yourself ..... same as any other bike , things will come loose etc ...
