Heh.

Mine's been slathered in Scottoiler FS 365 for the last 6 weeks i've
been riding it.

The roads are either icy as **** or covered in salt, neither great for
bikes .. but not much other choice when heading for the early
'plane :/

Holy ****!

I thought my Versys had suffered cos some belly pan brackets have rust
on them

Had the same thing happen to the clutch cover on a Triumph Sprint despite
washing it every w/e. Joys of living near a bloody gritting depot

Water, that is all that is needed (warm to save your hands). Looking at
the exhaust it is not just this winter he has not washed it.

Remember the XT500, it had magnesium engine casings which would dissolve in
winter if not protected. As you say a couple of buckets of warm soapy water
takes the worst of the salt off.
