I was going to ride up to Katoomba today o pick up my new helmet
(bought at a _real_ local bike shop), but after a few kms, I turned
back, went home, and took the car instead. Why? The vicious wind
gusts were trying to throw me off the highway.

Yes they were pretty vicious today, even here at Penrith Clinic.
Not like the last Snowy Ride though. Took a ride to Charlotte pass in
about 90 kt xwind, and the bike thermometer was showing -4 Celcius. I
_really_ wanted to turn around and get back to my snug chalet, but I
simply was not game to stop, so up I went. I was rewarded with some of
the best and clearest views of snow capped peaks around Kozzy. A great
ride as it turned out.
Lovely bike that BTW.

Brrrrr... You must be _real_ biker, George. There is NO WAY I can
even get my brain around going on something like the Snowy
Ride. I must now have minus cred.

Ta. I quite like how it handles the fast sweepers between Woodford
and Faulconbridge. It's got more than enough grunt for a wooss like
me, and it's got a nice exhaust note - not Harley-ish, more like a
Ducati.

I'm happy...

My first stack was in a wind storm, caught the old X7 and blew me across two
lanes of traffic into the back of a TC Cortina. My right knee made a lovely
impression in his LH tail lamp.

Yeah - wind is not our friend. Remember when the willy-willy blew me and my
bike over? Vicious stuff, wind...

Yep. Nasty stuff.

Here in the Blue Mountains we _really_ copped it.

Oi!!! Never mind the wind, tell us about your new bike. Have you
picked it up yet?

Impressions, feelings, emotions. New thread.

Yes.
May I draw your attention to the fact that I had nothing to do with
the wind and the power failures?

[chortle] I notice the cattle run at Hazo survived the storm. ;-)
