FS1E-SE

The very rare (thankfully) 'Custom' version of the Fizzie. In the UK,
available only in restricted mode.

Suzuki did a Somerset version of the GT50/X1 called the OR . It was equally
vile. Did the designers just think 'how shyte can we make a motorcycle look
and still have someone buy it'?.

Remove the engine, then kill the remainder with extreme prejudice, sticks
and fire. Revive it, then kill it again to be sure.

Thanks for reminding me of that horror... you bastard!

Bloke I worked with had one of those. We forbade him from parking it
with our bikes and made him leave it by the waste skips.

It came to a fitting end, when he left it in the delivery yard, one
day, where, just after he got off it, an artic promptly reversed over
it. He replaced it with a c70 and was then allowed to park with the
rest of us.

Chap I knew had one. The rest of us had bikes like the TS50, DT50, CB50,
endless MT50s Fizzies et al. He didn't have it long. The sting of universal
disdain and humiliation led him, not to the anticipated suicide, but to get
a Simson SS50, with which he kicked our arses. At last, Kevan could come
ride with us and hold his head up high as a proper 'pedder'.

He only bought it because it was cheap. It was cheap for a reason. The
reason was it was vile. The Simson was cheap. The Simson was good though.

Number One Son's first bike was a DT50MX. Wiv 65cc kit, of course.

I went through every inch of it, sorting it out[1, and even with my
weight on it, it did an indicated 55.

He sold it, once he was 17, for enough money to buy a decent used 125
*and* a brand new Nintendo Wii. The buyer was another 16-er, who came up
from the Isle of Wight with his Dad (who knew bikes). Dad could see it
was a good'un and handed over the cash with a smile.

Brilliant bike. Absolutely brilliant.

Never rode one, but they were supposed to be quite nifty.

[1] New tyres, brakes, swinging arm bushes, head races, fork oil,
various electrical bits[2], seat cover, mirrors...
[2] The reg/rec had actually been removed completely, and the wires just
joined together....

They were certainly competitive in terms of pace and reliability with a
stock Japanese 'ped of the early 80's. When we went down the tweaking route,
it was easier to tweak to a real 45mph. With a little porting and port
cleaning/alignment, a slight mod to the silencer and upping the fuelling a
little, it became a real speed demon ( for fairly low values of speed ) and
could keep pace with a Kreidler Florette.

Yes, I'll admit it. Mid life crisis has hit and I want an early 80's 'ped.
Quite why, I have yet to work out. Mmmmm, TS50ER with a Gianelli pipe, bit
of port tweaking.........

Was that the zr50? POS faux custom moped thing? A friend had one, we
used to see how high we could jump it over a hump back canal bridge.
Should have just thrown it into the canal.
