You can reserve your new Super Ténéré online if you have £13,499 to spare.

Based on Bonners experience I expect their quality levels are on a par with
the R1200GS as well as the prices.

Still, compared to the Multistrada at £14300 it's a bargain...

  3. Ridiculous, innit? It's like the original Fazer Thou all over again.
It's a Yamaha - nobody pays that much for a Yamaha.
If I was after a Multistrada, I'd go for the base model with ABS and
stuff the poncy sports and touring versions. I can't see that I'd
appreciate the extra whizziness. Well, not for a four grand premium or
    whatever it is.

It's like the Street Triple. I looked at the R, noted the better
suspension and the wavy disc brakes, and didn't see how that made it
    £900 than the basic Trip.

260kg wet FFS. Don't fancy trying to rescue my considerable investment from
a sand dune or peat bog.

An XT500 was 150ishkg wet. Albeit 83bhp short....

  5. It's CHF 22.980,-- in der Schweiz. That's actually marginally cheaper
    accortding to ft.com.
EUR 19.807.25 (£18,000) in Finland, c.f. EUR 14.990,-- in Belgique.

I'm seriously thinking about saving up for a Multistrada 1200S Touring.
The Versys will be up for replacement in two years time, that gives me
long enough to get the majority of the cash together.

    - and approx. 30.000 GBP (33.000 EUR) in Denmark, thanks to a largish
registration tax on motorvehicles... Verdammt! :-(

Sometimes, just sometimes, you display remarkably good taste.

It's likely as close as Ducati will get to replacing the ST4S, though it
would be nice if they re-used the old fairing etc again. In 2 or 3 years
they should be around at sensible money, which will be hard to resist.

Although it does have an awful lot of complicated electronics.

Haha, it's ugly as **** and I love it.

Seriously, having now owned one of these soft-roaders/tall-roaders for
a year now, I'm quite taken with the whole concept. They suit my riding
style and useage far better than most of the bikes I've owned in the
past few years. The closest I came to the perfect bike for me was the
shonky old Bandit 600, believe it or not. The only real thing wrong
with that bike was the amount of miles it had on the clock and the
amount of oil it drank. The Versys has a very similar riding position
but lacks a bit of grunt, hence wanting something a little more pokey.

Ideally I'd like Triumph to build a 675 Tiger with a seat height
suitable for short arses like myself, and you, but until then my dream
will be the Multistrada 1200S Touring. Now all I need to do is raise
    14,295ukp to pay for it.

I'm amazed they haven't tbh, if you go onto the Versys forum the demand
for it is definitely there. I'd say about 60 - 70% of the posters there
would trade their Versys for one if it were available. I dare say a
fair few SV650 owners would swop as well, not to mention the owners of
other machines looking for something like that.

I still like my Tenere but having to have the same fault fixed three
times has left me a bit pissed off with Yamaha. it's a cracking bike
for the jobs I want it to do and I'm still confident that it'll be ok
now it's had a new wiring loom and reg/rec but the original problem
should never have been there in the first place and once identified
Yamaha should have had the balls to recall the bikes they knew had
    problems.

Having said that, I think if it really came down to hard decision time
at the price they're asking for the Super Tenere I wouldn't hesitate,
I'd go for the R1200GS every day of the week, especially now the
Germans reckon all the snags have been sorted.
Yet more Italian shite. I suppose I might buy another Ducati one day
but it'd be a sports bike that I only did low mileage on rather than
    something like the Multistrada.

I'd like them to build a 1050 Daytona.

Still not sure I'd bother replacing the thou with one though. This is
the first bike I've ever had where I can't find a reason to replace it.
A bit like Bonwick with his 10R. Well, exactly like Bonwick with his 10R
really, except I threw mine at the A1203 and he threw his at a pub car
    park.

Exactly like me and my K8. I keep looking at it and saying "that's my
perfect bike". It'll be staying a while.
