I was on the Bindit. I've had a hectic few days and the Gixer didn't
    feature much in them:

    Monday - working

Tuesday - day off. I rode the Gixer to Addenbrookes Hospital for an EEG
scan, scared myself stupid on the way there and back.

Wdnesday - working during the day. Tori, my girlfriend, rode over on her
650 Bandit. I stripped and rebuilt her front calipers as a certain
Suzuki dealer on the Norfolk/Suffolk border had negelected to even
fucking look at them when the bike had its 8,000 mile service 2 weeks
ago. Both calipers had badly seized pins and the lever was coming back
to the bars. The brake fluid would never have passed Sweller's piss-test
either. It was like this when it went in and the brakes are a part of
the 8K mile service schedule. I shall be having words with their service
department this coming week. All sorted within an hour or so.

Thursday - set off at 6-00 for Mallory Park loaded with tent, 2 sleep-
mats, full tailpack and Baglux bag. Did trackday on Bindit once luggage
was removed - major fun. Left Mallory to make my way to Tori's in north
Norfolk at approx 3-30pm. Rode through torrential rain from Northampton,
did 75 miles of filtering in standing deep water between Kettering and
Mildenhall. Got to Mundesley at approx 9-00pm after a stop for food and
    drying out.

Friday - relaxed in Norfolk, walked my girlfriend's dogs on the beach
and went to buy a new sleeping bag for Tori.

Saturday - set off from Mundesley on north Norfolk coast at about 7-00am
to ride to Romford, incident with Jaguar approx 1 1/2 hours later. Made
Romford in 2 hours including a stop for fuel and a smoke. Spent 3 1/2
hours having the exhaust clamp section of the Bindit welded up by Gibson
Exhausts with a new stainless parts on collector box and link pipe. Job
very well done. Went from there to Brands Hatch to spanner for my mate
Danny Imberg's ZX-10R in Powerbike class. Set tent up then prepped ZX-
10R for qualifying race in afternoon. Danny qualified 6th on grid, could
have done better but complaining of a lack of grip and grounding his
toes. Took rear wheel down to Alan at A+R Racing to have new Bridgestone
slick fitted, put wheel back in and set tyre pressures, also lifted rear
of bike slightly on ride-height adjuster. Evening spent eating then
walking the full circuit with a running commentary from Danny.

Sunday - Danny doing 2 races, so prepped bike for first practise, then
his first race - race 9 - he got a 4th. New tyre and height obviously
working better than they were before. Developed a method of phoning his
placing and timings by mobile phone from Tori, at the back of the pit
garages overlooking Graham Hill bend, to me on the the pit wall so I
could do pit-boarding for Danny. Got back to Paddock and Danny said he
wasn't even looking at the board cos it was so hectic out there. Packed
away tent and stuff onto bikes and took them to paddock area, then
settled down to prep bike for second race - race 20 - he got a 5th and
said later that he had read his pit-board this time. Packed all race
bike and kit away and left Brands at about 6-00pm, got home sometime in
evening. Tori got home to Mundesley at about 9-30pm.

    I need a rest.

And if Lozzo had slammed his brakes on due to an obsticle in front
then it's quite possible for the jag to have rear ended him innit?

  5. Do they give a discount on sentencing because you used cash to provoke an
incident that may have caused someone's death ?

I'd have probably been more inclined to pull over and let him pass and
then see if he held the speed I'd been doing previously. If he didn't
then just light him up with main beam and be done with it.

Damaging his car isn't that good a plan because he'll either take you
number and shop you (he'll have 2 witnesses in the car no matter what
you claim) or he'd do what I'd have done which is shove you right
through the armco "because he'd just broken my screen then brake
    tested me".

Obviously the fact that I drive a white van with an indicated top
speed of 115mph means I couldn't keep up at 120mph but ykwim.

    No chance.

    His witness isn't independent.

He isn't going to admit he a) tailgated or b) drove at 120 mph.

He might try it on, though, but he's a bit short of evidence, even for
a 'balance of probablities' thing if he sues for the cost of
    replacement.

Hasn't seemed to matter in a number of incidents reported in the weekly liar
over the last couple of years....
Of course bloody not! He'll say he was completely within the law and a
nutter on a bike tried to kill him and plod will believe him because (a) he
drives a car, (b) it's a Jag so he's obviously an upstanding member of the
community and (c) all bikers are evil murderous cunts.

They're pretty good if you can make out a cracked windscreen in the
    car behind, too.

What colour were the driver's eyes?

He's probably a bit peeved as he had only borrowed the Jag while his Jeep was
    being fixed.

    Hmm.

I wasn't there, however I think this sounds rather a shitty thing to do.

I would hope that if someone one day chucks a 'few coins' out of their
car at you because you were too close to them you'll accept it with
good grace. After all, making up your own law and punishment isn't a
    restricted occupation.

<shrug> it's your life, but way to go on making the roads a better
    place.

I've never been tailgaited on a bike, well not for long enough that I
can remember. If I'm on a trailie or summat I keep well out of the way,
if I'm on a decent bike I'm not letting any traffic keep up with me.

Last time I was seriously 'gated in the car was passing the Rover plant
in Oxford, family on board. It's a 4 lane with a concrete seperator.
Blue Sierra goes all shouty on my bumper but I'm in traffic and I have
nowhere to go. He is clear behind so I hit the anchors hard. He put it
into the barrier, which is kind of curved at the base, the offside
wheels rode up the camber and all I saw left in the mirrors was a big
pall of dust and car parts in orbit.

I was going to say ... normally if they want to overtake at 100+ then I
let them though, makes me feel less like a lunatic

cool, I got tailgated by a gang of yooves in a 'suped up 5 series once,
they didn't notice a police car behind though, and got pulled !

Pretty much what I would do. Although not on my Bloo GS, for obvious
reasons but against motors I can compete with[1] I am with you all the
way. However I do understand Lozziz actions and possibly the motivation
behind them and can feel deep sympathy. So I suppose it is a 9.2 for
artistic content and a 5.6 for technical execution.

I've read the rest of the thread, but from none of your posts is it
clear to me why you didn't just temporarily slow down, pull over to
let him pass and then accelerate back into the outside lane.

Either, as others have said, your rear observation was poor in not
noticing him approach in the first place or you were being at least to
    some extent a stubborn git.
